# Bibliotheek Ets Haim

**Intro:** Bibliotheek Ets Haim - Livraria Montezinos, is de oudste actieve joodse bibliotheek ter wereld, gevestigd in de bijgebouwen van de Portugese Synagoge in Amsterdam.

De bibliotheek maakte van oorsprong deel uit van het gelijknamige seminarium, de school van de Portugese Gemeente, opgericht in 1616. Sinds 1675 is de bibliotheek gevestigd in het synagogecomplex en te raadplegen voor onderzoekers uit de hele wereld.

In 2003 plaatste UNESCO de collecties op het Memory of the World Register, waarmee het universele belang ervan werd erkend.
